Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) has officially established a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with MOSAIQUE Pvt. Ltd., a Japanese enterprise located in Bangalore, to implement a comprehensive program that integrates Japanese language education and practical technical training for students across its campuses. This collaboration signifies a critical advancement in educational cooperation between India and Japan, aimed at equipping Indian youth with essential global skills and enhancing their employability on an international scale.
The Japanese language program is set to commence in December 2025, with an initial enrollment of 2,000 students. The initiative is projected to expand over the years to accommodate 20,000 learners, positioning CGC as the largest educational institution in India providing Japanese language courses. This groundbreaking effort in Indo-Japanese education is unprecedented, as it marks the first time a university in India will incorporate Japanese language studies into its curriculum for all students. This integration seeks to bridge the existing gap between theoretical academic learning and practical professional skills necessary in the global job market.
Both CGC and MOSAIQUE aspire to develop future-ready engineers from Gujarat and other regions of India who can effectively contribute to Japan”s evolving industrial landscape. S. Rashpal Singh Dhaliwal, the founder and President of CGC, articulated the significance of this partnership, stating, “This collaboration with MOSAIQUE marks a defining step in CGC”s journey toward global education. We aim to empower our students not just with degrees, but with global opportunities. With extensive experience in the Japanese industry and cross-cultural management, Ishida has devoted his career to training Indian engineers for roles in Japanese companies. MOSAIQUE is recognized for its expertise in Japanese language training, technical education, and career placement services. Under this new MoU, students will participate in intensive training programs lasting between 3 to 10 months, which will cover Japanese language proficiency up to the JLPT N2 level, along with practical training on advanced design software such as NX and CATIA.
Ishida expressed his commitment to this collaboration, saying, “We believe in building real bridges between Japan and India through education and skill development. By providing both language and technical training, we aim to create engineers who can thrive in Japanese industries and contribute to global innovation.” As Japanese businesses continue to increase their presence in India, addressing language and cultural differences has become increasingly vital. This partnership aims to tackle these challenges, fostering cross-cultural understanding and preparing students for diverse career opportunities in both countries.
