Epic Games Store users have reported significant login difficulties on Saturday, with many unable to access their accounts. Outage tracker Downdetector indicated that over 4,000 users faced issues on the platform at the time of this report. This disruption coincides with scheduled maintenance for Fortnite, which is preparing for the launch of the highly anticipated crossover miniseries with The Simpsons.
Numerous players took to social media and gaming forums to express their frustration. One user noted on Downdetector, “Bruh epic games launcher ain”t working on pc.” Another added, “Out of nowhere when I go to install a game I get “An unknown error occurred performing that action. Please try again”.” Some users were more vocal in their criticism, stating they were “real sick” of the ongoing issues with Epic”s services.
On X (formerly Twitter), complaints continued to flood in, with one user stating, “The entirety of Epic Games Store Launcher is down…” Another remarked, “I can”t even log into my epic games store right now.” One player reported being completely logged out of their Epic Games account, while another humorously suggested, “Even the servers of Epic Games couldn”t handle the new Simpsons season.”
In response to the situation, Epic Games acknowledged the login issues on its official site. A message on the company”s status page reads, “We are aware that players are currently experiencing issues when trying to log in. Please visit the Epic Games Status here for the most up-to-date information.” As of now, the status page indicates a “partial service outage.”
Fortnite servers were taken offline earlier as part of a planned maintenance following the “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” live event. Epic Games confirmed on X that the downtime commenced at 11:30 AM ET on November 1 and is anticipated to last around five hours. Initially, servers were expected to return by 4 PM ET. However, the broader issues with the Epic Games Store may lead to further delays for some users trying to log in once Fortnite goes back online.
