Epic Games Users Face Login Issues Amid Fortnite Server Downtime

On Saturday, users of the Epic Games Store faced significant login challenges, with many reporting an inability to access their accounts. The outage coincided with scheduled downtime for Fortnite as the company prepared for the launch of a much-anticipated crossover miniseries featuring The Simpsons.

According to outage tracker Downdetector, more than 4,000 users indicated they were experiencing issues with the platform. Social media platforms and gaming forums saw an influx of frustrated players sharing their experiences. One user on Downdetector lamented, “Bruh epic games launcher ain”t working on pc,” while another reported an error message that stated, “An unknown error occurred performing that action. Please try again.” Some users expressed their dissatisfaction more bluntly, with one stating they were getting “real sick” of Epic”s service.

On X, formerly known as Twitter, several users echoed similar sentiments. One remarked, “The entirety of Epic Games Store Launcher is down…” while another added, “I can”t even log into my epic games store right now.” One frustrated player said, “It just completely kicked me out of my whole epic games account and I can”t log in,” and another humorously noted, “Even the servers of Epic Games couldn”t handle the new Simpsons season.”

In response to the ongoing problems, Epic Games confirmed the issues on their official status page. Their message stated, “We are aware that players are currently experiencing issues when trying to log in. Please visit the Epic Games Status here for the most up-to-date information.” Currently, the site indicates a “partial service outage.”

As for the Fortnite downtime, servers were taken offline earlier in the day as part of planned maintenance following the “Welcome, Our Alien Overlords” live event. Epic announced on X that the downtime commenced at 11:30 AM ET on November 1 and is expected to last approximately five hours, with hopes of returning by 4 PM ET. However, the ongoing issues with the Epic Games Store could potentially delay user logins even after Fortnite resumes service.
