K T Rama Rao (KTR), the former Minister for IT, Industries, and Urban Development, has been invited to present the keynote address at the upcoming Global Economic and Technology Summit (GETS) 2025. This significant event is scheduled to take place from November 10 to 12 at The Kingsbury Hotel in Colombo, Sri Lanka.
The formal invitation was extended by Dr. A.U.L.A. Hilmy, the Director General of GETS Sri Lanka, on behalf of the Ministry of Science and Technology of the Government of Sri Lanka. The summit aims to gather international policymakers, entrepreneurs, and technology leaders to explore themes of innovation, digital transformation, and regional cooperation.
In his invitation, Dr. Hilmy praised KTR for his “distinguished leadership and transformative role” in establishing Telangana as a prominent hub for IT and industrial advancement in India. Organizers emphasized that KTR”s initiatives in fostering large-scale industrial and technological projects have served as a model for various emerging economies.
The summit secretariat expressed that KTR”s involvement would not only motivate policymakers and entrepreneurs throughout South Asia but also bolster collaboration between India and Sri Lanka in the realms of technology and economic development. GETS 2025 is anticipated to attract participants from numerous countries, including ministers, investors, startup founders, and innovators, with a collective focus on creating sustainable and technology-driven economies across the region.
